Vor dem London Designfestival 2017, hat Pentatonik ein innovatives, neues Unternehmen angekündigt, Möbel aus recycelten Smartphones, Flaschen und Speisen zu produzieren. Mit den geschätzten 20 Millionen Tonnen an Plastikabfälle, die in unseren Ozeanen allein im Jahr 2016 schwimmen, will Pentatonik den Konsumentenmüll in Designerstücke, die für die allgemeine Masse produziert werden sollen, verwandeln.

Aluminium, Glas, Lebensmittel und Kunststoffe sind die Bausteine für die Möbelpalette von Pentatonik. Die einzelnen Möbelkonstruktionen sind komplett modular austauschbar, das bedeutet, dass die Komponenten im Schadensfall leicht austauschbar sind und ebenso für ein ästhetische Update. Darüber hinaus verwendet das “airtool” -System auch Einzelteile aus alten Handys.
